• Anachronisms: The film is set in the 1970s, but a 1990s-era Jeep Cherokee is visible in the background of a track-meet scene.
  
  
• Continuity: In actual footage of the Munich Olympics, the runners have numbers on their backs. The actors only have numbers on the fronts of their jerseys.
  
  
• Continuity: During the football scene at the start of the movie, when Steve first puts his helmet on it has no side ear pads. When he's hit a moment later and is on the ground the pads are there.
  
  

• Anachronisms: During the running of the 10,000 meter race at the 1972 Munich Olympics, it shows the Star of David as the decimal point in the time on the television. The Star of David was not used until after the Israeli hostage crisis, and the race took place before the crisis.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: When the runners start off the line for the Olympic 5,000 meter race, one runner obviously moves out of the way of the camera taking the shot. The runner veers to the left at the last second when he would have gone to the right.
